The Future of the Accountancy Sector Act, which was submitted for consultation this summer, requires accountants to audit annual accounts under certain conditions.
In their response to this legislative proposal, Lars van Amsterdam and Marike Bakker propose to the Ministry of Finance that the bill needs to be amended because it offers no additional protection to market parties, sends the wrong signal to ‘unverifiable’ entities, and exposes accountants to involuntary liability and disciplinary complaints.
