NautaDutilh’s Benelux Arbitration team has gained another victory in the enforcement proceedings in relation to an EUR 543 million arbitral award rendered against the Republic of Kazakhstan in favour of a group of Moldovan investors.
After having previously obtained an exequatur in Belgium and Luxembourg, our team also secured leave to enforce the arbitral award in the Netherlands. The Dutch exequatur judgment was rendered by the Amsterdam Court of Appeal on 14 July 2020.
This is another important step in the ongoing and worldwide attempt – lead by our colleagues at King & Spalding – to force the Republic of Kazakhstan to fulfil its obligations under the arbitral award. A press release can be found here.
