Jos van der Klein

Jos van der Klein is a member of the Litigation & Arbitration team. He advises and litigates for both national and international clients on matters relating to corporate and commercial law.
Before joining the Litigation & Arbitration team, Jos was an associate in NautaDutilh's Banking & Finance department, where he specialized in loan, acquisition and project finance. He advised banks, financial institutions and corporate clients in domestic and international financing transactions.
Jos obtained a bachelor's degree in Dutch Law from Leiden University in 2013, and subsequently studied at the University of California (Hastings) in San Francisco. Jos graduated from Leiden University in 2015, where he obtained a master's degree in Civil Law (cum laude). Jos joined NautaDutilh in January 2016.

- Assisting a major beverage manufacturer with the lifting of a EUR 45 million attachment and merits proceedings relating to damages for wrongful enforcement.
- Advising a U.S. company on a multi-jurisdictional strategy for lifting attachments in the Netherlands, Belgium and France.
- Lifting of an attachment over floating pontoons in connection with a large international construction project on behalf of a French listed company.
- Representing a Croatian shipbuilding company in international arbitration in relation to the construction of a sailing cruise vessel.

- Representing a financial institution in high-stakes arbitration under the NAI Rules relating to the recovery of substantial advisory fees in connection with transactions exceeding EUR 2 billion.
- Representing an energy company in disputes with a contractor in connection with a large-scale refinery construction project, including summary proceedings before the Amsterdam District Court and intervention in Italian injunction proceedings relating to the enforcement of performance bonds.
- Various damages claims relating to competition law infringements, including matters involving air cargo and power cables
- Preliminary questions to the Court of Justice of the European Union on the application of European law and international jurisdiction in a cartel damages case
