Willemijn Pieters is a Senior Associate in NautaDutilh's Financial Law group. She advises financial institutions, FinTech companies and their investors on financial regulatory law, covering both Dutch and European law in the context of existing businesses and new financial products and services. Her expertise includes licence processes, product and service advice, and providing strategic and in-depth legal guidance on the regulatory impact of changes in legislation on existing offerings. Willemijn has particular experience in licence applications and expertise in outsourcing and DORA implementation and has assisted numerous clients in ensuring compliance with such guidelines/rules.

Willemijn additionally focuses on various topics concerning digital assets, including distributed ledger technology (DLT), tokenisation (including tokenised securities and deposits), stablecoins, central bank digital currency (CBDC), crypto-assets, and crypto-asset services.

  • Qualifications

    Willemijn is admitted to the Bar in Amsterdam. She graduated from the Vrije Universiteit in 2017, where she obtained a master's degree with a specialization in Corporate Law. After working at another law firm for four years, Willemijn joined NautaDutilh in 2021.
