Our firm's Fintech team assisted Brex with obtaining its payment institution license from the Dutch Central Bank. With this license, Brex will be able to offer its payment services to companies across Europe from its Amsterdam office.
Founded in San Francisco in 2017, Brex is an intelligent finance platform, offering corporate charge cards, expense management services and treasury tools to B2B customers. Until now, Brex customers had to be based or headquartered in the US to take full advantage of Brex’s platform.
NautaDutilh assisted Brex with preparing the license package and with the entire licensing process with the Dutch Central Bank, including the set-up and governance of the Dutch subsidiary that will be providing payment services across the EU.
“It's great that we were able to assist Brex in obtaining their payment institution license in the Netherlands. We are happy to see that another innovative US fintech is going to provide payment services throughout the EU from the Netherlands. With this successful license application, our Fintech team further solidifies its leading position for assisting on payments licenses in the Netherlands”
