NautaDutilh assisted the Dutch/Belgian software company BlueBee and its shareholders on the sale of BlueBee to Illumina, Inc. Bluebee, originally a spin-out of the TU Delft, has developed a platform that specialises in mass analysis of genetic data.

DNA-sequencing and analysis via the platform enables users (mostly hospitals and research institutes) to easily extract insights from genomic data, including medical diagnoses. The deal combines Illumina’s 15,000 sequencing systems with BueBee’s analysis platform.

NautaDutilh's deal team was led by Ruud Smits and Marieke Pols and also consisted of Tom Dijkhuizen, Wijnand Bossenbroek, Sanne Mesu, Elodie Smits, Nina Kielman, Alissia Sudibyo, Erik Poorthuis, Maxime Colle, Max Le Blanc, Ken Lioen and Daan Verhaegen. We closely cooperated with US based firm Winston & Strawn LLP on US employment and tax law matters.
