NautaDutilh assisted Colruyt Group in the acquisition of Delitraiteur, previously part of the Louis Delhaize group. The transaction was completed after obtaining the approval of the Belgian Competition Authority.

This acquisition enables Colruyt Group to strengthen its focus on convenience formats and expand its urban footprint, in line with its long-term strategic growth objectives. Delitraiteur will remain operational under its current name, with the existing management and employees staying on board. Customers will continue to shop at their trusted local store while benefiting from synergies between Delitraiteur and Colruyt Group’s broader retail ecosystem.

Great to have assisted our longstanding client, Colruyt Group, in this strategic transaction that further advances their convenience offering, with ready-to-heat and ready-to-eat meals, and expands their presence in urban markets.
Philippe Remels, partner at our Corporate/M&A practice
