NautaDutilh assisted Symeres on the sale-and-leaseback of its life sciences headquarters in Nijmegen to AEW. The 5,600 sqm facility, developed by Symeres and occupied since 2006, comprises two interconnected buildings with approximately 80% laboratory space and 20% office space. Following completion of the transaction, Symeres continues to operate its head-quarters from the premises under a long-term, 20-year lease indexed to inflation.
“This transaction combines a long-term lease with the sale of a highly specialised life sciences facility, providing Symeres with continuity for its operations while successfully realising the as-set. The sale-and-leaseback structure reflects the growing interest of international investors in well-located, high-quality life sciences real estate in the Netherlands”
The NautaDutilh core team working on this transaction consisted of Boris Andriessen (Real Estate), Redmar Warning (Real Estate), Michelle Meevis (Real Estate), Joost den Engelsman (Corporate M&A), Olaf Baks (Corporate M&A), Jinne van Belle (Finance), Marc Orval (Finance), and Lenneke de Baar (Finance).
