Deal or Case news
NautaDutilh assists Dutch investment firm Bencis Capital Partners and founder Pieter Kooi with the contemplated divestment of Kooi European Mobily Security Solutions to IK Partners. Bencis, Pieter Kooi and the management team will each reinvest as part of this transaction. Completion of the transaction remains subject to regulatory approval.

Bencis held its shareholding in Kooi since 2018, and during this time Kooi has seen an exceptional growth trajectory. The company is a fast-growing pan-European provider of temporary camera surveillance and rising early-detection solutions headquartered in Friesland. Kooi helps to secure its customers' sites. The company provides end-to-end service on security, from technical advice, delivery, installation and 24/7 monitoring. It has more than 200 employees who serve a growing customer base in 23 countries. Together with IK Partners, Kooi aims to further accelerate its growth and strengthen its current market-leading position.

"Congratulations to Bencis, Pieter Kooi and Kooi’s management on this successful exit and reinvestment!" says lead partner Joost den Engelsman. "It was a pleasure to work together on this deal, which puts Kooi in an excellent position to realise its ambitious plans to accelerate the company's growth across Europe. Our team was very happy to be able to contribute to the next steps in their journey."

The deal team further consisted of Olaf Baks, Naomi Asscheman, Michelle Meevis, Victorine Dijkstra, Fleur Terlouw, Leanne Meurs, Jasmijn van Koetsveld, Nico Blom and Riemer Meinderts.
